A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the emails sent to non-existent addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date email address or has made a typo. The negative aspect of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of spam emails, but this issue can be resolved using anti-spam protection software. It is also crucial to keep in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound emails to a third-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

Configuring a catch-all email mailbox will be incredibly easy in case you’ve got a Linux web hosting package with us. You can enable the feature through our powerful, albeit easy-to-use Email Manager tool, which is integrated into the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you will manage the web hosting account itself. You’ll see all the mailboxes that you have set up enumerated in alphabetical order and on the right-hand side of each of them there will be a tiny "Catch-all" icon, which will quickly show you if a certain mailbox gets all the email messages associated with a given domain or not. With a single click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this feature whenever you want. If there is active email forwarding or in case a different mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a specific domain, you will receive a warning from our system. The latter will not deactivate/replace anything automatically and without your consent.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all functionality can be activated easily if you have a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you’ve set up with the domains hosted in the account will be enumerated in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will find a mini sign conveniently situated right next to each of them. With only one click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking as long as there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with this option already activated and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and activate the feature using the contextual menu that will appear. If any of the preconditions for creating a catch-all mailbox is not satisfied, our system will let you know, but will not replace or disable anything automatically.
