Each desktop or notebook or web server is run by an Operating System - the low-level program which communicates with the computer hardware, including peripheral devices such as a mouse or a printer, and any applications that are installed on the system. Any program input through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the Operating System. On a web server, every single application runs within the parameters established by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etcetera. This is valid for both standard website scripts and server-side software such as a media server. In case a virtual server is generated on a physical one, there can be two independent Operating Systems, referred to as guest OS and host OS, which means that you will be able to set up a different software environment on a single machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Hosting

We offer three different Linux releases for the Operating System of our virtual private servers - Debian, CentOS and Ubuntu. These are some of the most stable and reliable OSs available on the market and we provide all three of them rather than only 1 because we realize that you might want to set up some software with specific requirements for the Operating System it'll run on. The latter is due to the fact that each of the three Operating Systems has a vast support community behind it and there're different software packages you can install on the hosting server. Your OS selection will also determine what hosting Control Panel can be installed on the VPS if you wish to use one and for that reason we offer several Control Panels as well. In case you decide that you need to have another OS, our tech support team can quickly wipe the existing one and set up the one that you'd like. We also offer an optional service to have the OS on your VPS updated weekly.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Web Hosting

The dedicated server solutions that we offer come with three different Operating Systems to pick from. They are all Linux distributions - Ubuntu, CentOS and Debian, and not only do they have no license taxes, but they’re also known as the most stable and risk-free OSs. We offer three different ones as each of them is backed by a different community. The packages that you can add on your server are different and this could matter if you need to install some piece of software with particular requirements regarding the hosting environment. In this light, the internet hosting Control Panel that you can select for the dedicated server is also determined by the OS that you will select. You can select any of the three Operating Systems throughout the order procedure, but if needed, we can always set up the server anew with an alternative one upon your request. As an optional service that you can add to the package whenever you want, we can update your OS on a regular basis in order to keep it as risk-free as possible.
